Chinese Premier Arrives in Moscow
Chinese Premier Zhu Rongji arrived in Moscow on Sunday afternoon, continuing his official visit to Russia after attending the 6th regular meeting of Chinese and Russian premiers in St. Petersburg on Saturday.
During his three-day stay in Moscow, Premier Zhu will meet Russian President Vladimir Putin, Russian Federation Council (upper house of parliament) Speaker Yegor Stroyev and other Russian officials to discuss ways to advance the strategic partnership of cooperation between the two countries to a new level.
While visiting St. Petersburg from Friday to Sunday, Zhu held narrow-range talks with his Russian counterpart, Mikhail Kasyanov, and attended the 6th regular premiers' meeting. The two sides signed a joint communique of the meeting and six other documents on bilateral cooperation.
Russia is the third leg of Zhu's ongoing four-nation tour, which has already taken him to Ireland and Belgium.
Chinese Premier Arrives in Moscow
After his trip to Russia, Zhu will leave for Kazakhstan for an official visit and attend there the first prime ministers' meeting of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization.
