Chinese Vice-Premier Wu Bangguo Meets Japanese BusinessmenChinese Vice-Premier Wu Bangguo said Saturday in Xiamen that he hopes more small and medium-sized enterprises from Japan would come to invest in China under the efforts of a well-known Japan-China investment promotion organization.Wu made the remarks during a meeting with Imai Kiyosuke, deputy president of the Japan-China Investment Promotion Agency of Japan, and a delegation led by him. The Japanese guests are here attending the annual China International Fair for Investment and Trade, which began Saturday. The Chinese vice-premier appreciates the role of the Japanese agency in promoting Japanese investment in China, and said he hopes the agency will continue to work and get more small and medium-sized Japanese enterprises to invest in China. Wu also asked Japanese businessmen to get to know China better during the current fair, a national event that attracts about 40 billion U.S. dollars of foreign direct investment each year. Kiyosuke congratulated China for Beijing's successful bidding for the 2008 Olympiad. He said Japanese businessmen have high expectations for the fair and hope Japan-China trade and investment can grow to a higher level. |
