Taiwan's Investment in Fuzhou Booming

The sports shoe manufacturer based in the Fuzhou Economic and Technological Development Zone has achieved an annual output of 10 million pairs of shoes - all exported to Europe, the United States and Japan. Since the zone was established in East China's Fujian Province in 1985, large numbers of business people from Taiwan have moved to invest there.

Xiamen Enforces More Strength on Smuggling

The customs strengthened its efforts striking smuggling. The import and export value adds to RMB 8.76 billion yuan from January to July, 2001, with a 9.7% increase comparing with the same period last year.
