Final Result of Fiji General Election Announced
The final result of Fiji's general election was announced Friday afternoon.
The latest news from Fiji said caretaker Prime Minister Laisenia Qarase's United Fiji (Soqosoqo Duavata ni Lewenivanua) won 31 seats in the 71-seat parliament.
Mahendra Chaudhry's Labor Party won 27 seats, ten less than it won in 1999 election.
Coup leader George Speight's Conservative Alliance won 6 seats.
According to a reliable resource from Fiji, Chaudhry is out certainly and a coalition government consisting of native Fijians will be formed in the next week.
