COSCO Pacific Sees More Profit in First Half This Year
COSCO Pacific Ltd., a major shipping business company of Chinese mainland listed in
Hong Kong
, said on Thursday, that its net profit rose 21.5 percent to US$83.93 million for the six months through June, from a year earlier.
Basic earnings per share were 3.922 US cents compared with 3.229 US cents previously.
Revenue, meantime, inched up 2.7 percent to US$108.35 million. An interim dividend of 9.5 HK cents a share will be distributed, up from 8.2 HK cents a year earlier.
Merrill Lynch has said that COSCO is one of the potential winners from direct transportation links between
Taiwan
and the Chinese mainland.
