Western China Commodity Fair Closes with Record Transaction

The 13th West China Commodity Fair closed Thursday in Wuzhong, in the Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region in northwest China, with a transaction record of 9.1 billion yuan.

The fair, the largest in the northwest China region, is an annual event sponsored by 11 prefectures and cities in western China and the five western railway sub-bureaus of Xi'an, Lanzhou, Chengdu, Ankang and Yinchuan.

Of the total transactions, 300 million yuan worth were made through e-commerce, although net trading was only being tried out at this fair.

Over 10,000 businesspeople from home and abroad attended the five-day fair.

Next year's fair will be held in Hanzhong City, Shaanxi Province in northwest China, which boasts the most moist air in the dry region.
