Buried Bodies of Train Attack Victims in Angola Exhumed for Adequate FuneralAt least 140 buried bodies of victims killed at a passenger and freight train attack by Angolan rebels have been exhumed by the National Investigation Police, Angolan official news agency Angop reported on Wednesday.The unbury of the corpses, which started last week and is going to continue until next week, aims to provide an adequate funeral for the victims at one of the cemeteries in Dondo, northern Kwanza Norte province, the report said.. The attack by the rebels of the National Union for Total Independence of Angola (UNITA), which occurred on August 10, left more than 300 people dead and 160 others wounded, causing damages worth over 6 million U.S. dollars. Around 150 people have been buried in the site of the assault and some died as they were being taken to hospital. Most of the corpses found are of women and children. They are burnt and in a state of putrefaction and decomposition. In some cases, the experts only got bones, that is making the identification difficult. The Angolan Armed Forces are expected to support the search operation in the bush.
