Officials Meet Overseas Guests at China Western ForumCao Zhi, vice-chairman of the National People's Congress Standing Committee, Ismail Amat, state councilor, and Wan Guoquan, vice-chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, met Tuesday evening with a group of overseas guests attending the ongoing 2001 China Western Forum.The guests include Israeli ambassador to China Itzhak Shelef, the United Nations Industrial Development Organization's representative to China Sergio Miranda-da-Cruz, and Dhanin Chearavanont, chairman of the board of the Chia Tai Group in Thailand. The forum opened Tuesday in Xi'an, capital of Shaanxi Province and will run through Thursday. |
