Chinese Doctors Use Lasers to Cure Varicose Veins
Varicose veins in the legs, a common condition among older people, can be cured by one-hour laser treatment in a hospital in Shanghai, sources said recently.
By putting laser fibers into veins, doctors at the Shanghai No. 2 Medical University Hospital can make the veins shrink and later lead to the fibrosis of the veins so as to cure the disease. This is the first medical endeavor using lasers to fight the condition in China.
Varicose veins usually result in tumidity, atony and pains in the legs as well as eczema and ulcers, causing great trouble to the patients.
Traditional treatment of surgical operation often fails to eradicate the condition and takes a long time to heal.
