Nine Hostages Being Held in U.S. Indiana Bank
Nine people were taken hostage by a gunman Tuesday morning in a bank in Lowell of Indiana, the United States, media reports said.
No information was available on the condition of the hostages in the Centier Bank, but police surrounded the building and Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) agents were on the scene.
The gunman was trying to rob the bank, but investigators weren' t sure yet if that was the case, FBI agent Doug Garrison said.
Lowell is located in northwest Indiana, some 50 kilometers south of Chicago.
