Officials Meet Overseas Guests at China Western Forum

Cao Zhi, vice-chairman of the National People's Congress Standing Committee, Ismail Amat, state councilor, and Wan Guoquan, vice-chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, met Tuesday evening with a group of overseas guests attending the ongoing 2001 China Western Forum.

The guests include Israeli ambassador to China Itzhak Shelef, the United Nations Industrial Development Organization's representative to China Sergio Miranda-da-Cruz, and Dhanin Chearavanont, chairman of the board of the Chia Tai Group in Thailand.

The forum opened Tuesday in Xi'an, capital of Shaanxi Province and will run through Thursday.
