Chinese Justice Minister Visits New Zealand

New Zealand Minister of Justice Phil Goff said Tuesday in Wellington that his country would like to strengthen cooperation with China in judicial field.

He made the remarks during a meeting with his Chinese counterpart Zhang Fusen and the Chinese judicial delegation headed by him.

In the meeting, the Chinese minister of Justice briefed Goff, who is also minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade, about China's improvement in legal system and reform in judicial area.

Goff said he appreciates China's achievements in economic development and in the construction of legal system.

Zhang noted that China is willing to learn good experience and practice from other countries in running the country by laws.

He said that strengthening the exchange and cooperation between China and New Zealand in judicial and legal areas is the requirement and guarantee for building a long-term, stable and healthy Sino-New Zealand relationship of comprehensive cooperation.

Zhang and his delegation arrived here on September 2 for a goodwill visit to the country.
