First National Reinvestment Fair Opens in Xi'an

The first fair on reinvestment by foreign-funded enterprises in China was held Tuesday in Xi'an, capital city of northwest China's Shaanxi Province.

The fair provides a good opportunity for foreign-funded enterprises in eastern China, which wish to invest in key projects to be built in western China, and for the western provinces which are seeking cooperation with overseas investors, said Sun Zhenyu, vice-minister of Foreign Trade and Economic Cooperation (MOFTEC), at Tuesday's opening ceremony.

The fair was jointly organized by the MOFTEC, the government of Shaanxi Province and the China Association of Foreign-Funded Enterprises.

Participants include a dozen of the top 500 transnational companies in the world, 30 foreign firms, businessmen from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan and over 100 enterprises in eastern China.
