Chinese, DPRK Leaders Attend Performance
The Chinese leader Jiang Zemin and the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) leader Kim Jong Il watched a mass performance Tuesday evening in Pyongyang.

High-level officials from both sides also observed the performance in the May Day Stadium along with an audience of 150, 000.

The performance, involving over 100,000 participants from all over the DPRK, reflected the achievements of the Workers' Party of Korea.

In the afternoon, Jiang visited the former residence of the late DPRK President Kim Il Sung, where Kim Jong Il was born and spent his childhood.

Kim Jong Il is the general secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea (WPK) Central Committee and the chairman of the National Defense Commission (NDC).

He also visited Mangyongdae, the school children's palace.

Jiang is on a three-day visit to the DPRK in his capacity of the general secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee as well as the Chinese president.
