Bomb Explodes in Jerusalem, One Killed

A bomb exploded on the Rehoa Ha'nevim street in the center of Jerusalem at about 7:45 (4:45 GMT) Tuesday morning, leaving one person killed.

Israel police spokesman Gil Kleiman told Xinhua that it was a suicide bombing attack and the killed was suspected to be the suicide bomber.

But it was not clear if there were any people injured in the incident, Kleiman added.

A witness told Xinhua that the booby-trapped suicide bomber detonated the bomb when a car was approaching. He said that there were not many people in the area.

It was the latest bombing attack in Jerusalem. Monday morning, two bombs exploded separately in Jerusalem and in the Jewish settlement of Gilo on the outskirts of the holy city, lightly wounding five Israelis.
