Cultural Festival Concludes in Xigaze

A cultural festival, which has treated more than 620,000 people to cultural events and tourism and commodities fairs, came to a close in this prefecture of northwest China's Tibet Autonomous Region.

Local officials said during the eight-day festival, the prefecture received nearly 9,000 tourists and earned about 500,000 yuan from tourism services.

More than 400 enterprises took part in the commodities fair, which saw the clinching of trade deals worth 4.5 million yuan.

The prefecture, by offering a series of preferential policies, has reached cooperative agreements with investors from the other parts of the country and overseas on a dozen projects, involving a total investment of more than 200 million yuan.
