Jiangsu Province Attracts Taiwan Investors

East China's Jiangsu Province had approved 9,517 Taiwanese-funded enterprises by the end of June this year, utilizing 9.5 billion U.S. dollars.

An official from the provincial government said Monday that Jiangsu has made great efforts to develop the investment environment in the past three years, which has promoted economic exchanges between Taiwan and Jiangsu.

Sixty-two out of the top 100 private-owned enterprises in Taiwan had had investment in more than 160 projects in the province, covering such areas as electronics, telecommunications, building materials and foods.

Electronic information industry has become an investment attraction for Taiwanese. The province now has some 1,000 Taiwan- funded electronic information projects.

Majority of the 5,000 Taiwan-funded firms that have started business or production are in good operation.
