County's Bandhnu Products Exports Hit US$3 Million
The exports of bandhnu products by the Weishan Yi and Hui Autonomous County in southwest China's Yunnan Province have reached US$3 million annually, statistics show.
The county has three bandhnu enterprises which have the right to do export trade, and 90 percent of the county's bandhnu products go to over 20 countries and regions like Japan, the Republic of Korea and Southeast Asian countries.
The county has 10 bandhnu enterprises, employing about 20,000 local farmers.
The bandhnu originated in the Tang Dynasty (618-907) in the county and was inherited by local farmers using natural vegetable coloring.
