International Garment Festival Closes in East China

An international garment festival closed in Nanjing, capital of east China's Jiangsu Province Sunday after clinching deals worth 7.8 billion yuan.Of this amount, business people from 15 countries or regions placed order worth 170 million U.S. dollars.

More than 78 fashion shows were staged during the five-day festival, attracting over 32,000 people.

Jiangsu is a major textile materials producer in China. Last year alone, the province's textile industry had a profit of more than 6.8 billion yuan, accounting for about 23 percent of that of the country's textile sector.
