Eight Pakistani Soldiers Killed in Border Shelling: India

Eight Pakistani soldiers were killed in heavy gunfire and shelling between Indian and Pakistani troops along the Line of Control (LoC) in Poonch, Jammu and Rajouri sectors of Kashmir since Friday night, the Press Trust of India (PTI) reported on Saturday.

Indian defense sources accused Pakistani troops of resorting to heavy mortar shelling accompanies by indiscriminate firing at several areas along the LoC in Kashmir since Friday night, the PTI reported.

Indian troops along the LoC retaliated and in the exchange of fire eight Pakistani soldiers were killed, the sources claimed, adding that five of Pakistani troops' bunkers were also damaged.

Intermittent shelling and exchange of fire were still on in some areas, the sources told the PTI, claiming there was no loss of life on the Indian side.
