Elephant Kills Chinese Journalist

A Chinese journalist has been killed by an elephant while investigating damage to crops blamed on the pachyderms in southwest China's Yunnan Province.

Gao Zhengping, a cameraman with the radio and TV bureau of Mengla County, was killed while taking pictures of crop damage near Mengman Town. The killer elephant managed to cross a ditch designed to protect people, and trampled Gao to death

Local sources said wild elephants have been causing serious damage to crops recently, and that's why Gao was invited in a bid to find ways to better protect the farms and the elephants.
