Russian Tatiana Dominates Women's Triple Jump

Russia's Tatiana Lebedeva won the women's triple jump title with a Games shattering-jump in Beijing Saturday in the University Games.

The Russian jumped 14.81 meters, well outside of the previous Games record of 14.59.

Belarus' Natallia Safronava took the silver with a jump of 14. 57, in front of another Russian, Elena Oleinikova, 14.39.

Tatiana, 23, placed second after the first three attempts with a modest 14.55. Safronava led the table with a 14.57 second bounce.

While Tatiana found her rhythem and produced the winner in the fourth round, Safronava knew the best result for her to fight was a silver.
