Chinese, Greek Military Leaders Hold Talks

China is positive in developing military relations with Greece, and is ready to promote all-level cooperation according to the principles of mutual respect, equality and mutual benefit.

Fu Quanyou, chief of General Staff of the Chinese People's Liberation Army, made the remark in talks with his Greek counterpart Manousos Paragioudakis.

Fu, also a member of the Central Military Commission, said that China and Greece are ancient countries, and share identical or similar views on many international issues.

Under the current complicated international situation, maintaining long-term and stable friendly relations between China and Greece conforms to the fundamental interests of the two peoples, he said.

Fu noted that the Chinese military has attached importance to its contact with the international community. It has established friendly relations with over 100 countries, and has also joined the peace-keeping operation of the United Nations, which he said make a contribution to the world and regional peace and stability.

Paragioudakis said that he has great interest in China, and has been excited after seeing China's developments.

He expressed the hope that his current visit will promote the existing friendly relations between the two armed forces.
