South Korea beats China 5-4 in Men's Soccer Third Place Play-off
South Korea beat China 5-4 on penalties Friday to take the bronze medal in the men's soccer competition at the 21st University Games.

After fighting to a scoreless draw in 90 minutes, the two teams went into penalty shooting directly.

South Korean goalkeeper Lee Jung Rae, who was sent on in the dying minutes, saved China's first shot from Zhang Yaokun, only to find compatriot Kim Hyo Il's shot blocked out by Chinese goalie Zong Lei.

Both team made no error in the following four rounds of shooting before Wang Xinxin had it wide the sixth for China.

Park Yo Seb grabbed the golden opportunity and the bronze medal for South Korea with a firm slap shot which left Zong helpless.

"Of course we are not satisfied with the results," said Chinese head coach Sun Chengyao. "But I am satisfied with the players' performance on the field."

Chinese Cao Yang once found the South Korean net in the first half of the watery match but the goal was disallowed for off-side.
