Shenyang to Build Large Equipment Manufacturing Base
This capital of northeast China 's Liaoning Province has determined to build its Tiexi District into a large state equipment manufacturing center, sources said.
Over 300 overseas investors Friday attended an international investment fair here to strike deals for transforming the district into such a center.
Covering 39.6 square kilometers, the district is located in the south of the city and has a population of 760,000. Tiexi is the industrial core of the city and is referred to as China's Ruhr, an industrial hub in Germany.
The five-day fair is expected to reach a contracted investment of US$100 million, according to sources.
