US Temporarily Closes Embassies in Bulgaria, Romania
The
United States
on Thursday closed its embassies in Sofia,
Bulgaria
and Bucharest,
Romania
for security review, State Department officials said.
"The two embassies will be closed to public today to review their security postures. And they will be reopen at the appropriate time," said a State Department official, who asked not to be identified.
He said the two embassies were closed after receiving information about the threats "linked to the Middle East."
