Forum on Stream Media Technologies to Be Held in Beijing

An international forum on wide band-based stream media technologies, the first of its kind, will be held here from November 7 to 9, sources said.

Government officials, experts, and foreign and domestic professionals in the field will attend the meeting. They will exchange views and discuss issues such as construction of wide- band management in China, management and development of content transmitted through the wide band and the latest stream media technologies.

Stream media refer to synchronous video and audio programming on the Internet between users and servers.

A survey shows that the number of people who visited stream media content through the Internet grew by 65 percent in 2000, and is accelerating.
