China overcame Russia in the women's team epee fencing final at the 21st World University Games.

The Chinese team, comprised of world 19th-ranked Yang Shaoqi, Zhong Weiping, Shen Weiwei and Li Na, defeated the Russian side 42- 34 in the final.

Ukraine, which was beaten by Russia in a semi-final, won the bronze medal.
