China's Gao Sets New Asian Record in Women's Pole VaultAfter winning the gold with an easy clearance over 4.45 meters, a new meet record, the 22-year-old Gao went on to attack 4.52 meters. She failed in the first two actions, but made it with a brilliant vault in the final try. Her jump beat the previous Asian record of 4.50 meters set by herself in the world championships early this month in Edmonton.
