Boat Overturned, 11 Missing in Sichuan
One person has been saved but 11 others are missing after a small private boat capsized on Tuesday afternoon in Jianwei County in southwest China's
Sichuan
Province.
The one-ton capacity boat was carrying pig dealer, a pig seller and eight farmers carrying the pig. It was traveling on the local 50-meter wide Tielu River. Because its screw propeller became entwined by some materials in the water the boat became out of control and floated with the current towards a six-meter-high dam and turned over.
The boast was licensed to only take three persons.
The rescue work is under way to search for the missing people.
