Nigerian President Concludes Visit to China

Nigerian President Olusegun Obasanjo departed at Shenzhen Airport Wednesday afternoon for Nigeria, concluding his visit to China.

Shenzhen Vice-Mayor Li Decheng this noon briefed the President on the social and economic development in Shenzhen. He told Obasanjo that trade exchanges between Shenzhen and Nigeria are increasing fast. Last year the city imported Nigerian goods valued at 1.7 million U.S. dollars, and this year it is expected to reach four million U.S. dollars.

Obasanjo was very happy to hear this, saying that Nigeria and China have extensive fields of cooperation. He expressed the hope that his visit will further promote bilateral cooperation.

Obasanjo arrived in Shenzhen on August 28. After visiting a number of the city's high-tech enterprises, Obasanjo said that the city has greatly impressed him.
