China Sets Up First Airport Club

China's first airport club, initiated by the Beijing Capital International Airport Group (BCIAG), was established here recently.

Li Peiying, CEO of BCIAG, said that the airport club will offer more careful and wide-ranging added-valued services to passengers.

He said, the club will expand airline services from the airline industry to non-airline ones, fueling the related industries' development.

"We'll work hard to bridge the gap between airlines and the public, encouraging more people to travel by air," he added.

The club, with a membership system, will provide people with all-round service, including ticket booking, facilitating the port- leaving process, picking up luggage, reserving hotels and vehicles at cheaper prices, as well as offering Internet offices for business people inside the airport.

Experts, pointing out that foreign airlines have diversified their services, said that the revenue from non-airline industries in Paris Airport account for 70 percent of its total. However, in China, non-airline industries only accounted for 31 percent of the BCIAG total, with great potential for growth.
