Top Chinese Lawmaker Meets Japanese Guests
Li Peng, chairman of the National People's Congress (NPC) Standing Committee, met Tuesday with Otohiko Endo, chairman of the visiting Japanese Diet delegation.
China and Japan are facing some difficulties in bilateral relations, Li said, urging the Japanese side to take substantial action to honor its promises on the question of Japanese militarist history and the Taiwan issue.
Otohiko Endo, also chairman of the International Affairs Committee of New Komeito, pledged to make contributions to the development of long-term stable relations between Japan and China.
