China's Su Yiping Wins Women's 100m Hurdles Gold
China's Su Yiping clocked 12.95 seconds to win the women's 100m hurdles at the World University Games Tuesday.

It is the second gold medal won by Chinese. Following Liu Xiang's victory in the men's 110m hurdles, the 22-year-old Su dashed home first with a clear gap.

"I am so excited to win the gold medal in front of a home crowd. The time equalled my peronal best," said the Chinese winner after the triumph.

Su was not always this lucky. She failed to win a minor medal at the East Asian Games early this year. "I hope I can take part in the 2004 Olympics, but my real dream is to show up at the Beijing Olympics," said Su.

She also revealed that she didn't expect to win the race so easily before the final.

Diane Allahgreen of Britain cruised home second in 13.13, ahead of Jacquie Munro of Australia in 13.17.

Su, 22, led from the start to finish for the victory.
