Specialized Trucks See Promising Future in ChinaChina's soaring economic growth enables auto producers to sell 400 trucks within three days during the on-going Second China Changchun International Automobile Fair.The demand for specialized trucks, such as tippers, vans, and cement mixers, will increase almost by 50 percent to 340,000 by the year 2005 from the current figure of 230,000, estimated experts attending the fair opened last Friday in Changchun, capital city of northeast China's Jilin Province. They believed that by the end of 2005, the specialized trucks will occupy more than one-third of China's truck market. "The sound economic environment makes a prosperous market," said Sun Xiaofeng, sales manager of Jilong Co., which already sold over 200 specialized trucks. Statistics indicate that China would maintain an economic growth rate of around 8 percent this year. A new round of infrastructure construction, fast development of high-grade roads, and the go-west development strategy have forged a promising future for the specialized trucks. "The market for specialized trucks can be further explored as they own only 20 percent of the market share while it was over 60 percent in developed countries," said Li Surong, a doctor from Shanghai who has been engaged to study on specialized trucks for years. The auto fair was scheduled to be closed on August 29. |
