Beijing to Hold Forum on China and World in 21st CenturyThe International Forum on China and the World in the 21st century will be held in Beijing between September 10 to 12.The forum will discuss several topics, such as the international political situation at the beginning of the century, the opportunities and challenges confronting China and the influence that China's economic development will have on the world. Chinese leaders will address the forum with China's development strategy and future goals. The people leading the forum will give detailed speeches on China's diplomatic relations, security policy, the reforms in state-owned enterprises, financial reforms, technological development, and environmental protection. The forum, organized by the Chinese People's Institute of Foreign Affairs (CPIFA) and the Xinhua Center for World Affairs Studies, is considered a high-standard, large-scale international event. Mei Zhaorong, the president of CPIFA, said that the forum will let the world know more about China and present a better image of the nation. Over 200 internationally celebrities will attend the forum, including some 50 foreigners, such as Helmut Kohl, former prime minister of Germany, Henry Kissinger, former Secretary of the United States, and Boutros Boutros Ghali, former Secretary-General of the United Nations.
