China Wins Men's Team Foil

Wang Haibin beat his strong Italian rival 45-39 in the last bout to lead China to the men's team foil gold medal at the 21st World University Games Friday evening.

China, which beat bronze medalists France to get into the final, led 40-34 going into the final bout between Wang and Salvatore Sanzo, Italy's top fencer who is currently ranked second in the world.

Wang finally scored a touch on Sanzo and raised his arms in victory.

China groups Wang Haibin, Dong Zhaozhi, Zhang Jie and Zhou Rui to compete with the Italian team, consisting of Sanzo, Simone Vanni, Marco Ramacci and Lorenzo Mammi.
