Chinese, Guinean FMs Hold TalksChinese Foreign Minister Tang Jiaxuan and Camara Hadja Mahawa Bangoura, minister in charge of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation at the President's Office of the Republic of Guinea, held talks Monday in Beijing on bilateral relations and issues of common concern.Tang said that over the past more than 40 years since the two countries established diplomatic ties, the bilateral relationship has maintained a healthy and stable development, with sincere and fruitful cooperation carried out in various fields. In international affairs, the two countries have always supported each other and carried out close cooperation, Tang said. He expressed appreciation and thanks to Guinean government's long-standing stance in adhering to the one-China principle and its unswerving support to China's great cause of reunification. He pointed out that the Chinese government pays special attention to the Sino-Guinean relations. He expressed the belief that with efforts by both sides, the Sino-Guinean friendly cooperative relationship and their traditional friendship will surely step into a new stage in the new century. Bangoura said that Guinea was the earliest of the African countries south of Sahara which have established diplomatic relations with China, and the two countries have since maintained good relationship. Guinea is grateful for the valuable support it has received over the past years from the Chinese government and people, Bangoura added. She reiterated that the Guinean government will continue to adhere to the one-China policy, and will make best possible efforts to promote development of bilateral relations. She also expressed appreciation for China's success in hosting the Sino-African Forum of Cooperation last year, saying that the forum will bring Sino-African relations to a new stage. Bangoura is here as guest of Chinese Foreign Minister Tang Jiaxuan.
