Uchishiba Grabs Japan's 3rd Judo Gold at Universiade

Masat Uchishiba grabbed Japan's third judo gold Sunday when he defeated Vakht Khositashvili of Georgia in the men's under 60kg judo final at the 21st Universiade.

Khositashvili just needed 30 seconds to beat Spaniard Kenji Uematsu by ippon in the semi-final, while Uchishiba edged past Ivan Chashchin of Russia in the other.

In the gold-medal bout, the 23-year-old Japanese strangled Khositashvili into submission with a throw for ippon.

Choi Min-Ho of South Korea won the bronze easily as his opponent Kenji retired halfway through the match due to injury. The other bronze medal went to Brazilian Joao Derly.
