South Korean Jang Wins Men's Open Judo Gold at Universiade
Jang Sung Ho of South Korea claimed the title of the men's judo open category at the 21st Universiade in
Beijing
on Sunday.
Jang, who easily knocked out his three previous rivals, two by ippon, encountered tough challenge from Abdullo Tangriev of
Uzbekistan
in the final.
But Jang's pulling and dragging tactics finally secured him the gold in the five-minute contest.
Hungarian Laszlo Szilagti and Ihar Makarau of
Belarus
both fought through the repechage to claim the bronze.
