South Korean Jang Wins Men's Open Judo Gold at Universiade

Jang Sung Ho of South Korea claimed the title of the men's judo open category at the 21st Universiade in Beijing on Sunday.

Jang, who easily knocked out his three previous rivals, two by ippon, encountered tough challenge from Abdullo Tangriev of Uzbekistan in the final.

But Jang's pulling and dragging tactics finally secured him the gold in the five-minute contest.

Hungarian Laszlo Szilagti and Ihar Makarau of Belarus both fought through the repechage to claim the bronze.
