Liaoning Holds Series of Activities to Mark Japanese Invasion Incident
Liaoning Province in northeast China held a series of activities Sunday to remember the Japanese invasion incident of northeast China on September 18 in 1931.
As part of the activities, about 600 photos and nearly 1,000 historical relics were put on display at the Liaoning provincial library. Some of the photos were taken by Japanese.
Films and documentaries on the Japanese invasion of China will also be on show to remind the public of the humiliating period in history for Chinese people 70 years ago.
Japanese troops stationed in Liaoning launched an attack on Chinese armed forces near Shenyang on September 18, 1931, which was the initial stage of the occupation of northeast China. The invasion is known in China as the September 18 Event.
