Russia Begins Production of New Cruise Missiles
Russia put into production a new kind of supersonic cruise missiles X-22M this week, which have no analogues in the world, a Russian State Duma committee on military industry said Saturday.
The cruise missile built with the use of advanced technologies and unique engineering solutions is intended for destroying targets at sea and movable and motionless targets on land, according to the committee.
The combat parameters of the X-22M cruise missile make it a highly effective weapon of the 21st century.
The missile's maximum range is 400 kilometers, with a flying speed of around 3,600 kilometers per hour. Ground and naval troops of other countries, including those with a high military potential, have no means yet to fight this missile, said the committee.
