China Scoops Fourth Diving Gold

China scooped their fourth diving gold Saturday at the World University Games when Wang Tianling captured his second gold medal for China in the men's 3m springboard.

Wang Tianling, who took the gold in the men's 1m springboard Thursday, amassed 695.10 points from his six final and five semifinal dives to clinch his second title at the Universiade.

Mexico's Fernando Platas, silver medalist in the event at Sydney Olympics last year, won 678.06 points to place second, relegating Japan's Ken Terauchi to third with 671.73 points, who won a bronze medal in the 3m springboard last month at the Fukuoka World Championships.

Wang Tianling's teammate Wang Feng was fourth with 667.65 points.

China have been dominating the Universiade diving pool, snatching three one-two in as many events in the past two days.
