Symposium on Listing of Foreign-Funded Companies in China to Be Held

A symposium on the opening-up of China's capital market and the listing of foreign-funded companies in China will be held in Beijing during October 12-13.

The first theme symposium of its kind will invite government officials, experts in the securities regulatory departments, representatives from major securities and foreign-funded companies in China to exchange views on the prospects.

Earlier this year, the State Council, China Securities Regulatory Commission and the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Co-operation on various occasions greenlighted both the A- share and B-share listing of foreign-funded companies on China's stock market.

A series of new laws and regulations concerning the new policy have come out, which signifies that China's capital market is following the lead of the opening-up of the financial and insurance markets.

Sponsored by the Research Institute of Restructuring the Economic System of China (RIRES) and the Shenzhen Branch of the China Association for Foreign-Funded Enterprises, the symposium will be organized by Beijing Qiming Economic and Culture Development Co.

The company will open a website, www.ejet.com.cn, offering thesis papers delivered by securities experts and providers to the meeting as well as concerned laws and regulations.

Liao Ming, vice secretary-general of RIRES, said that the symposium will occur at a prime time, which is ahead of the country's anticipated accession into the World Trade Organization, and after the overall rectification of the stock market.
