Senior CPC Official Meets South African GuestsLi Tieying, member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, met here Friday with a delegation of South African Communist Party (SACP).The delegation, led by the SACP Deputy Secretary General Jeremy Cronin, is here at the invitation of the CPC. Li said the CPC attaches great importance to its relationship with the SACP, and that it is willing to deepen the friendly ties between the two parties on the basis of the four principles guiding the inter-party relations, strengthen cooperation, and promote the friendship between the two peoples and the development of the relations between the two countries. The SACP, as an important political power in South Africa, has made much contribution to the construction of the new South Africa, Li pointed out, expressing wishes that the nation would keep making new achievements. Li also briefed the guests on China's current social and economic developments. Cronin said he admires and is encouraged by the accomplishments the CPC has made in leading the Chinese people to build the socialism with Chinese characteristics. He expressed the readiness of the SACP to continue strengthening its exchanges and cooperation with the CPC so as to enhance mutual understanding and solidarity.
