Morocco's Boulami Improves World Record in 3,000m Steeplechase
Morocco
's Brahim Boulami set a new world record of 7 minutes 55.28 seconds in the 3,000 meters steeplechase at the Memorial Van Damme Golden League event on Friday, August 24.
He beat the listed record of 7:55.72 set by Bernard Barmasai of
Kenya
in Cologne in August 1997.
Boulami crossed the line ahead of Kenyan Reuben Kosgei in 7:57. 29 and another Kenyan Stephen Cherono in 7:58.66.
