Flying Eye Hospital Leaves MongoliaAfter a three-week mission to treat eye patients in Ulan Bator, the world's only flying eye clinic "ORBIS" has left Mongolia, local media reported Thursday.During its fifth tour to Mongolia, the flying eye hospital treated 315 Mongolian eye patients and offered medical training for some 80 Mongolian medics. The hospital consists of 14 doctors from 13 countries. Sally Robinson, head of ORBIS, praised the Mongolian trainees, saying that they worked hard and their professional skills have been improved very fast. ORBIS, headquartered in New York, is a non-profit, humanitarian organization dedicated to fighting avoidable blindness worldwide. Since its establishment in 1982, the flying eye hospital has treated millions of eye patients in more than 80 developing countries. |
