China to Host Sports Tourism FestivalThe city of Wuxi will sponsor the 2001 China Sports and Fitness Tourism Festival from September 8 to 22 as an event of this year's Health Fitness¡ªChina Tour, disclosed an official from State Sports General Administration, according to latest issue of Beijing Review.During the festival eight national or international sports events and performance will be held, including the Second World Shuttlecock Champion-ship, the China Wuxi International Dragon Boat Invitational Tournament Second Wuxi City Dragon Boat Contest, the Sino-US Skating Stars Duet, the National Gate Ball Championship Wuxi International Tournament, the National Men's and Women's BigBody Building Championship, the 16th Roller Skating Champion-ship and a parachuting display. Around 3,000 people are expected to attend the festival. During the tourism festival, Wuxi tourism administration will present 10 sightseeing trips for visitors. |
