Wang Rui Brings China a Third Diving Gold

Wang Rui brought China their third diving title at the University Games when she clinched the 10m platform crown Friday.

Wang amassed 546.30 points from her five semifinal and five final dives to win by a margin of 11 points from her teammate Cai Yuyan with 535.83 points. Ri Ok Rim from the Democratic People's Republic of Korea took bronze with 532.80 points, holding off her compatriot Choe Myong Hwa with 526.14.

Cai won double silver medals - in individual and synchronized 10m platform events - at the Swimming World Championships in 1998 in Perth.
