China Enters Men's Team Quarterfinals

The Chinese men's team cruised into the quarter-finals of the 21st Universiade table tennis on Friday after beating Hong Kong of China 3-0.

After easily winning the first set against Hong Kong's Kwok Kei Tang, world top-ranked Wang Liqin seemed to lose his killing instinct and let his rival follow closely before he took the second set.

China is to take on South Korea, which defeated Greece 3-2 to advance.

In other matches on Friday, Chinese Taipei beat Sri Lanka, Italy trounced Estonia, Egypt eliminated Qatar, Japan trounced Thailand and Russia defeated Netherlands, all with 3-0.
